Russell Warren joins the Unisun Sports staff as the Vice President for Business Development after working at the Western Athletic Conference (rebranded to the United Athletic Conference) since August 2023.

Warren arrived at the UAC office after spending nine years at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he originally joined the department in February 2014 as a Senior Associate Athletic Director and was promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics in September 2017. 

Warren oversaw all external athletics operations at UT Arlington, including marketing and promotions, communications and broadcast, facilities and game operations, and development event activation, as well as oversight of the multimedia rights contractual execution. In addition, Warren was the sport administration oversight for men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and volleyball.

Prior to working at UT Arlington, Warren served as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of WNBA Business Operations for Spurs Sports & Entertainment from 2006-13. During his tenure, he managed business operations, including ticket sales and service, marketing and promotions, sponsorship sales, community and public relations for the WNBA franchise of the San Antonio Spurs. 

Warren has also worked as an Assistant Athletics Director at Texas Tech University and Baylor University following stints at SMU, the Southwest Conference and the Dallas Cowboys.

A Texas native originally hailing from Plains, Warren is a graduate of Texas Tech University.
