Rebekah Ray
Executive Vice President / Chief Administrative Officer
Rebekah Ray serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Unisun Sports, where she provides executive leadership and operational oversight for organization and it’s affiliated conferences, the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) and United Athletic Conference (UAC). In this role, Ray works closely with institutional leadership to advance strategic initiatives, governance, championship administration, institutional development, and operational alignment across the Consortium structure. She also serves as a key liaison to national organizations, including the NCAA and Collegiate Commissioners Association, while supporting the continued growth and evolution of Unisun, its conferences and its member institutions.
Ray was appointed as the eighth Commissioner in the history of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), now UAC, by the conference Board of Directors on March 12, 2025. She had previously served as interim commissioner beginning in October of 2024 prior to being elevated to the full-time position.
Ray originally joined the WAC staff in August of 2022 as Senior Associate Commissioner for Sport Administration and Championships, while also serving as the conference’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). In that role, she oversaw all WAC Championships, served as the primary conference administrator for multiple WAC-sponsored sports, coordinated governance and committee operations, and acted as a liaison to the WAC Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the Conference office, Ray spent eight years at former WAC member institution Seattle University, where she served as Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations and SWA. She oversaw all internal operations including department communications, capital projects, equipment operations, game operations, facility maintenance, and scheduling. While at Seattle U, Ray also represented the institution on the WAC Medical Advisory and Sport Management Committees.
Prior to Seattle University, Ray served as the Event, Facilities, and Equipment Coordinator at Shoreline Community College, where she directed all events for seven sports and managed facility rentals. She also served as Assistant Event Manager at the University of Washington, Director of Gameday Operations for the Seattle Sounders Women of the USL W-League, and as a Marketing and Promotions Associate for the WNBA’s Seattle Storm.
Ray has worked numerous collegiate championship events, including the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four, the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship, the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament, the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championship, and the NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships.
Ray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington.
